Not the most portable chairs. Also, there is a bar that tends to stick in your back a little bit. We used this chair to take to the beach. Well sand got all stuck in the part of the legs that slides to make the chair fold up, and we had to try to dig it all out. The chair would not fold back up. Dont use in sand if you plan to get colse to the water
