Great GPS for the priceDate: 2008-12-02 Rating: 10 out of 10This is a great buy! It works as well as the more expensive units I have tried. No problems so far!
BewertungenIt has outdated maps!Datum 2008-11-18 Rang: 2 von 10This unit comes with 2005 maps from the manufacturer and MIO does not have map updates for this unit. Do NOT purchase this device if you intend to drive on any road that has been built since 2005.
We recently went through South Carolina and the unit thought we were driving through fields when my atlas from Walmart had the roads on it.
Mio c230 3.5-Inch Portable GPS Navigator - good device for a low priceDatum 2008-11-16 Rang: 10 von 10It's fast, you don't need to wait for satellite detection or for route recalculation. You only need to upgrade the software and the maps, because they are a little old - you're missing POIs and new roads. The possibility to add speed cams or red light cams is perfect for me. Also the capacity to read roads names is usefully. Highly recommend it.Right price, poor performance...Datum 2008-11-04 Rang: 4 von 10I bought this GPS based on the price and a couple positive reviews. After two weeks of use, it went back to the seller. A few of the more annoying points that led to the return:
1) This unit will sporadically "reboot" while in-use. This is VERY frustrating when you're driving down a busy interstate and your exit is less then a half-mile away.
2) This unit picks some of the most unreasonable routes to your destination. Luckily, I knew where I was going. I would not depend on this GPS in an unfamiliar area.
3) The points of interest database is EXTREMELY limited. It couldn't locate a Wal-Mart or Target withing 30 miles of my house. There are two or three within 10 miles.
4) When you decide to go off-route and take a different way to your destination, it insists you do a u-turn and get back on the original route much more frequently then re-routing your trip. (see #2 as to why this is gets old fast)
I'd agree with other reviewers who said the interface is somewhat confusing to navigate. I found that after using it for about three-days in my car, I knew what I was doing and could use the different features without a problem. When it did pick a good route, it didn't always get me to the precise address, but it always got me close enough to find it. All in all, I'd say invest a little more for a better-known brand. I wish I would have.Excellent GPS NavigatorDatum 2008-10-30 Rang: 10 von 10Mio c 230 GPS Navigator is the excellent product that I am using. It's easy to find out the direction while you are planning to go somewhere as long as you have the address. Some features I haven't used it even. There are some favorite places saved in it you don't even need to know the address e.g. airports. I don't have to worry about going to Mapquest to get the direction and print out. Mio is good enough.....
