Does Everything Except Drive The CarDate: 2008-10-08 Rating: 10 out of 10This device has empowered me. I no longer have to fear getting lost is a strange neighborhood or finding my way back home. Mine came with 2008 maps but I registered on the Garmin site and downloaded the 2009 maps without a problem. I also updated the firmware using Garmin's "WebUpdater." I did have an issue with Garmin's POI loader software "seeing" the Nuvi (strange, since the WebUpdater found it with no problem and I could access the drive through MY Computer), but I just downloaded POIs onto an SD card and that solved that.
It's the perfect size, the volume is great, even the FM Transmitter works great for me and the bluetooth IS worth it. It connects so quick, has great range, and the speaker really is quite good. I tried it through the FM transmitter and that was surprisingly good. Very happy with this model.
I do have one concern: the plastic frame at the bottom of the screen is slightly bowed and not flush with the screen. It's very slight, but I'm unsure if this is a common defect. It works great, and I've already invested a couple of hours in updated it, so I don't know if it's worth it to get it replaced.
The box, when delivered from Amazon, was not in any shrink-wrap (which may be how they are delivered) and there is a blue sticker on the top with some letters and a bar code. I know Amazon only sells new, but wonder about the sticker. I did call Amazon and was assured they only sell new. Anyone else notice their Nuvi's frame not completely flush with the glass or who remembers their delivery not having any shrink-wrap, please comment.
If you're thinking about buying -- do it. It really is worth it.

BewertungenGPS A Winner!Datum 2008-10-06 Rang: 10 von 10Drove from Nebraska to Florida for the first time, came back through Atlanta, GA. The GPS was right on, except for new construction or hiways . . . always have an idea of where you want to go and major signs to ensure you are on the right road. If there has been new construction the GPS may get "confused" and have to "recalculate" a couple of times. But, just continue to follow instructions from the GPS and you will get back on track as soon as the program can find the road nearest you.
Especially good when in high density traffic with multiple lanes. The "voice" tells you early enough to "stay right", "turn in .2 mile", "Exit number 2A on the right" and such various other helps BEFORE you have gone by the turn.
Correct addresses of destinations are a must for the best efficiency. We had never been in Atlanta and drove right up to the house of our friends with no stress of wrong turns.
I recommend this GPS, though there are cheaper (less bells and whistles) and more expensive models. This is a great mid priced GPS.
Great navigator!Datum 2008-10-05 Rang: 8 von 10After having a GPS stolen from my car, I love the portability of this one. I just slip it in my purse and go. The wide screen is great and I have not had any problems with it. I have not tried the blue tooth function yet. My only complaint would be it can sometimes be a little bit slow acquiring satellites. All-in-all I think it is great.Garmin nuvi 660Datum 2008-10-03 Rang: 10 von 10Great little GPS at a fantastic price. Too bad it's discontinued now (probably one reason it was so affordable). This has everything I wanted in a GPS and it all works wonderfully. Bluetooth for my cellphone, MP3 player. And of course maps. Current maps (2009). My only minor complaint is the mounting system. Suction cup doesn't hold long to windshield and the unit is in danger of falling hard so we have to remove it essentially every day, sometimes even every stop. Dashboard mounting system is too permanent (I don't want to ruin my dash) and still ends up using the suction cup system. I'll probably spring for a dashboard portable mount. Still, Garmin GPS systems get a thumbs up from me!Does what it's supposed to do.Datum 2008-10-03 Rang: 10 von 10I think for what it is, it's pretty good. You put in the address and wait for it to give you directions. It has saved me a couple of times where I was in a place I wasn't familiar with and was going to a place I've never been to before. The FM transmitter is great when you're not in the City. It gets a bit more static-filled when you're in a big city like Los Angeles. The traffic-warnings are a nice welcome, but I know you only get it for free for the first 3 months. I don't think I would really need it since in LA, there's always traffic. But when I used it in Phoenix, it was a nice addition. All and all, a good product and recommended.
