Great bargainDate: 2008-11-12 Rating: 10 out of 10For a hobbyist-amateur like me, this tripod is just right. Light enough, steady/solid enough, easy enough to use, and certainly cheap enough! I don't know that I'd use this on a cliff, rough terrain, or in high winds, but for family portraits and my kids' sporting events, this will do just fine.

I have already tried it on all 3 with great success. I use it with our digital camera and we took a great family picture. The dvd video camera we have attaches easily and we took very good film of some softball games already, very steady and easy to set up. The third use is for my chronograph when working up handloads for my rifles and it works great especially with the levels. I would definitely recommend this product for anyone at this great price. The extra quick mount base is very convenient and it is left with the video camera so we always have it available at a moments notice. It's lightweight and easy to carry. It's a little shakey for heavy cameras though. My fiance used it for his medium format mamiya and it was a little top heavy. It also comes with some nifty extras such as bubble level, spikes, and a place to hold a bag of rocks (for stability). If you are looking for a great buy, this is the product I recommend. If you are looking for professional grade, you might want to look elsewhere.
