These have worked great for handling hot grates and my cast-iron smoker box. The leather feels and looks great and I've found them very comfortable.

Get just a little careless and hold on for just a bit too long, and you'll get burned! I have used them quite a few times and they work quite well, I can pick up the cast iron pan I use for wood chips and not suffer the usual scorched fingers....
